Johnston Packers (1995) Ltd. (dba Johnston's) is a pork processing plant located at 5828 Promontory Rd. in Chilliwack, BC, V2R 4M4. We are looking for 1 Industrial Building Maintenance worker to join our team! Full-time, permanent position, 5 days per week. Hourly wages are $26.44 to $28.15, 40 hours/week. Other benefits as per Collective Agreement: extended health, dental, and vision benefits, group insurance including long term disability and life insurance. 

• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems
• Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment
• Perform safety and security checks
• Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
• Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
• Work with minimal supervision
• Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
• Ensure that safety standards and departmental policies are met
• Assist skilled tradespersons
• Perform routine equipment maintenance
• Troubleshoot and make minor adjustments and repairs to equipment
• Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
• Maintain daily log of operation, maintenance and safety activities
• Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
• Inspect products to determine the requirements for repair
• Inspect sites or facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards
• Maintain inventory of equipment & supplies
• Operate forklift, upon training

Essential Skills: Great communication, ability to work independently & under pressure in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, strong organizational and planning skills

Experience & Education: Will train. Completion of high school or equivalent.
