One (1) Cook needed in Nepean, ON

Description

River Lounge & Banquet Centre is looking for One (1) Cook to perform the following duties:

• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment
• Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption
• Carve and trim meats such as beef, veal, ham, pork, and lamb for hot or cold service, or for sandwiches
• Prepare relishes and hors d'oeuvres
• Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas, to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Consult with supervisory staff to plan menus, taking into consideration factors such as costs and special event needs
• Coordinate and supervise work of kitchen staff

Terms of Employment:

• Salary: $36 per hour
• Permanent, Full Time/ 40 hours per week
• Start date: immediately

Skills requirements:

• Language: English
• Education: No education requirement; Completion of a college program or other related program an asset but not a condition of employment
• Experience: Minimum experience of 2 years of commercial cooking; Proficient in charcuterie and cheese boards for catered events and onsite display; Experienced in delicatessen style presentations
